LES ANSES D’ARLET - typical village

The town of Anses d'Arlet, which came in 2nd position during the show "The French's Favorite Village" in 2020, is an unmissable tourist site in Martinique.

This fishing village, located on the South Caribbean coast and bordered  with its turquoise waters has preserved the charm and authenticity of the Antilles.

The main road which runs along the seaside and lined with traditional houses, is the scene of Martinican life, lulled by the soothing rhythm of the waves.

Facing the large pontoon, the bell tower of the Saint-Henri church dominates and watches over the colorful fishermen's boats. It is one of the first churches to have been built in Martinique at the end of the 17th century.

On the beach, you can relax in the shade of a coconut tree, enjoy some saury accompanied by a planter, or go snorkeling in calm, transparent water.

A few meters from the shore, tropical fish will offer you a joyful and colorful spectacle, and sea turtles will soothe you with their graceful swimming.

Ideally located, the village is also an excellent starting point for visiting the island and enjoying the many possible activities: hiking, water sports, monuments, beaches and shops.
